The Fabulous Witch Next Door

At last - the second in the Best Friends Forever series, The Fabulous Witch Next Door, has been published online! I must confess I forgot some of the vital details in the publishing process, so it was a struggle. But there it is, in all its gorgeous greenery, which is thanks to illustrator Nicole Hein. Next: absorb all I can about marketing. Oh, and release the third book before Christmas, of course!

Back to work...

Now it's back to work on the next book. It's all about witches, the good kind. Hopefully it will be out later this month...

Yee-haa!

I'm thrilled to say that after many hours of being glued to my laptop, muttering to myself, I hit the "Publish" key today!

Yes, the first of the Best Friends Forever series should appear on Amazon (the Kindle shop, I mean) by the end of 2 September.

Isn't the cover great? It's by the wonderfully talented Nicole Hein. I feel lucky to have found her. The cover shows Louise (one of the 'best friends') who cuts off the pony tail of the mean girl sitting in front of her... and then feels very bad about it.

Unamericanising

Things are slowly coming together. I'm too excited to sleep! The cover of Louise and Melinda - the first in the Best Friends Forever series - is nearly done, and illustrator Nicole Hein has done a wonderful job with it.
But what I've realised today is that I have to go back and 'Unamericanise' the whole story. Yes, the American vocabulary and spelling must be whipped out again, and the original UK-based language must be put back. In other words, I have to take out all references to 'sidewalks', 'cookies' and 'fall' and replace them with 'pavements', 'biscuits', and 'autumn'.
There is a long, boring reason for this... And it's okay. I'm not entirely comfortable with 'gray colors' after many years of being used to 'grey colours'.
Onwards and upwards! Publishing day is creeping closer.
In the meantime, I'm posting a book review or two. I've had fun re-reading some old favourites. (That's 'favourites', not 'favorites', right??)

Best Friends Forever

My first ebook in a new series called "Best Friends Forever" should be coming out soon. The final details are being sorted out, but there is some organizing to be done. 😜 So much to do... so little time!

A story coming soon...

At the end of July 2018, I hope to have my first story available online. I've written four, so now I must make them available for children to read!

The stories are all about the power of friendship, so the series is called Best Friends Forever. The first story in the series is called Louise and Melinda.

Gosh, I'd better get going - there are only two weeks left in the month, really. There's so much to organize.

I'll be back soon - hopefully with photographs, this time!

Hello everyone

My name is Cathy Watt. I live in a small village in the southern part of Africa. I've written some stories for children, which I hope will be available in online shops within the next few months.
